CREATED LANDSCAPES

Cybele Lyle

// LANDSCAPES/ ALTERED/ IMAGINED/ COLLAGED/ AESTHETIC/ CUT/ CREATED //

The more I use the landscape to inform my work, both in my practice and in the many forms it presents it's self in my educational work, the more I realise how integral it is.

I love these created and altered landscapes from Cybele Lyle, feeding directly into ideas for my latest collection 'Configure' exploring how I can create my own landscape/world becoming lost in drawing, shape, colour and pattern and placement.

Working on a new collection of drawing as starting points for development into print/surfaces/colours. Exploring random shapes and found pattern from the environment around me, my current interests lies in layering, transparencies, interaction of shape and colour. How might these elements develop?

'Exploring the physicality of color and texture, the works’ surface is created through a dance of repetitive marks, suggesting that a body’s labor isn’t separate from the product it generates but is, rather, another version of it'
